What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy medicine. Translated from Japanese, Rei means universal life force and Ki means energy. Practitioners channel the flow of energy to bring harmony to the client’s body, mind and spirit. Kent Combs practices the lineage of Reiki that is called Usui Reiki, because it was developed by Master Mikao Usui over 100 years ago.
What is Qi Gong?
Qi Gong (pronounced chee guhng) is an ancient form of Chinese medicine. The literal translation of the term is: life energy cultivation. Qi Gong helps to bring balance and peace to the mind, body and spirit. Experienced Qi Gong healers work with clients in connection to the life energy that brings health and balance.
What is spiritual healing?
Traditional spirituality affirms that natural healing arises from a meaningful connection to that which is sacred. In many cultures, the word for ‘healer’ and spiritual practitioner are the same. Used by people around the globe for thousands of years, spiritual healing has been shown to bring body, mind and spirit into harmony. Can Reiki, Qi Gong and spiritual healing work long distance?
Reiki and Qi Gong are forms of energy medicine. They support us in making a deep connection to the life force that is abundantly around us all the time. Life force, like spiritual grace, is connected, continually, to every one of us. These methods of healing work just as well on site or off site, because they leverage this continual connection.
- Research completed during the COVID pandemic showed statistically signification reductions in stress and anxiety following sessions of Distance Reiki. Findings demonstrated the feasibility of distance reiki.

Is it safe?

In fact, Reiki is reported as gentle enough to be used with even the most fragile clients. You can feel confident in their safety. These traditions are widely recognized as supportive to the health of body, mind and spirit. They are noninvasive and nurturing, helping your own innate healing capacities to benefit you.
What is the cost?
A full list of services and prices can be found here on the Family Care page. Before your first appointment, you will be provided with an expected expenses form for you, as required by the 2021 ‘No Surprises Act’ to ensure transparency in health care and medical expenses.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your spiritual healing care will cost. Under the 2021 No Suprises law, health providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the bill for the health care services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services in writing, at least 1 business day before your scheduled consultation, or before scheduling a consultation. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Can I use my insurance?
You can request insurance reimbursement depending on your coverage. You can also use an FSA or HSA.
Reiki, energy therapies, and spiritual healing are alternative therapies that are eligible for payment for with a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). These services can also be paid for from a Health Savings Account when a letter of medical necessity has been provided.
The Reiki Family office does not file insurance claims. Your payment is accepted at the time services are provided; if you have an FSA or HSA debit card, payment can usually be made using that. (Note that policies vary and coverage is not guaranteed). You will receive a statement for services showing payment. You can submit that statement to your insurance company for reimbursement.
